Ceramics Retreat
May 14 – 16, 2010

Get ready for spring by joining us here at Point Sebago for a fun filled ceramics painting weekend! Just bring yourself – bring a friend! Point Sebago’s own Rita Estes, who has weekly classes all summer, will be here to instruct and assist throughout the weekend. It’s a Garden theme, and you will purchase the bisque piece(s) of your choosing to work on. When you leave, you will have the finished animal or planter for your garden, and you’ll have had plenty of laughs and shared camaraderie doing it!

Check-in is at the Welcome Center anytime after 3pm on Friday and the weekend officially begins with a buffet dinner Friday evening in the Lakeview Restaurant. After checking in you’ll probably want to unpack and get settled in your Park Home. You can bring munchies (there is a refrigerator and microwave in each Park Home) but don’t forget plastic ware and utensils if needed for your snacks. There is a General Store on the premises for lunch or snack foods. Rita will be over at the Grove Pavilion, so stop over to meet her and peruse the selection of bisque pieces. Rita has all the brushes (you can bring your favorite brush if you want) and paints. There are over 29 basic colors and you can also mix colors for special effects.

You can paint at your own pace. Rita will teach dry-brushing techniques and she’s there to guide you along the trickier parts. Once the painting is done, an acrylic finish will be applied, so you’ll be ready to go. Enjoy watching your own masterpiece come to life!

Imagine a weekend of nothing to do except relax, paint and converse in a rustic, friendly atmosphere.

Bisqueware available for purchase. Create a project for your Spring Garden.
